Check the user name and password is in (and correct), go into the Configure Livebox page to do this.
| Tip: | If you have gone through the installation before and it failed at
the end due to no sync, but this is OK now, it is quicker to just go into
here and enter it than going right through the installation again and
waiting for error 500, 502 and on forever.. Quit the installation and just
try this way instead! |
Check that there are no problems with the account - billing, account locked, etc. Sometimes changes made to the account (especially changing the speed of the service) can cause problems for various reasons.
If it is OK, sometimes clicking Submit in Configure Livebox can help (Near Username and Password (don't change these). You need to log in obviously too (Access is restricted etc..) Also, it is the same really as disabling and reenabling the Internet Connection in Security | Internet Connection).
Try entering the BT test logins (NOT bt_test@startup_domain - it doesn't seem to work with the Livebox - you need to try bt_test_user@***, replacing *** with fs, or bb, bb1, bb2, bb3, bb4 .freeserve.co.uk) as you would for the Speedtouch modem. If one of these endings works, replace the @fs on your user name with this. When you have submitted any of these to try, it will say if it connects; you can change it back straight away as required too, so it is easier than the Speedtouch modem really because you don't need to disconnect before the next attempt!
Check also that there are no exchanges with problems, especially Network problems on BT Broadband Status
If all this fails, and powercycle, factory reset (need to reenter the user name and password afterwards though, remember!) and reinstall have failed too, then may need to be escalated for a line test.
